GOVE U TURN ON EXPERT ADVICE

The British people may have had enough of experts, according to Micheal Gove, but it's clear that he has not or at least not yet.  At Tuesday's cabinet meeting he demanded to see the full legal advice given to the government about the Irish backstop (HERE). You can bet he wouldn't have bothered if the backstop didn't threaten to overturn the Brexit applecart. Strange how nobody wants lawyers involved in anything until it's in their own self interest. Gove was quite happy to pull us out of the EU without a single word of legal advice or even a plan!

Slowly but surely the Brexiteers are being forced to confront reality.

The issues, like the present one on the Irish border, keep cropping up. Before the campaign Brexiteers like Gove were anxious to throw a veil over any difficulties and in many cases to deny there were any. Now as they continue to come up, the call goes out to get expert advice - not to examine the real and growing number of problems and perhaps warn or caution against Brexit, but to try and clear the way for it!

Expert advice was scaremongering wasn't it? Expert economic advice from The Treasury which casts doubt on the future prosperity of the country after Brexit, is still routinely rubbished by Brexiteers so to hear Gove and others now demand the Attorney General's legal advice is really rich isn't it?
