BREXIT - SPHERES OF INFLUENCE

I get emails from something called Brexit Central, an organisation which is rabidly pro-Brexit. I signed up to see what the other side were thinking and some of the stuff is almost beyond parody. Brexit Central is a place where even the dim light of reality does not penetrate and never more so than in this piece (HERE) by Ted Yarborough, an American Conservative born in Albuquerque.

He thinks Brexit is a chance to create Churchill's vision of the world divided into three "majestic circles" with the US at the centre of one, Europe at the centre of another and Britain with the Commonwealth as the third. It is the British Empire all over again. He even suggests something called CANZUK - Canada, Australia and New Zealand plus the UK as an area where there could be freedom of movement! What India, Nigeria and the rest of the Commonwealth think about it he doesn't say - but I can guess. He does not seem to realise that Commonwealth countries like India do more trade (quite a bit more!) with European countries that they do with us.

Majestic circles are nineteenth century concepts which Mr Yarborough dresses up as a new approach. They are what Stalin and Hitler called "spheres of influence", a throwback to Yalta, but amount to exactly the same thing.

He sounds like a white supremacist to me and I assume under him the UN would soon become redundant.
