ADAMS NAMED AND SHAMED

Nigel Adams, our newly re-elected MP, has been named as one of 72 who voted against (HERE) a 2016 amendment to the Housing and Planning Act in the House of Commons. The MPs who voted down the amendment on homes being “fit for human habitation” were themselves landlords who derived an income from a property. It might have cost them money had the amendment gone through.

The MPs were named as part of the Grenfell Tower block tragedy that is making the headlines at the moment. The story makes clear that the MPs action didn't impact the tragedy but it does demonstrate a certain mindset that seems to puts money above people's lives.
