Yesterday the EU published six more position papers. These are drafts to be sent to the other EU members for comment and consideration but they are the basis on which the withdrawal negotiations are to be conducted. They are the Essential Principles of:
- Ongoing police and judicial co-operation
- The functioning of the institutions, agencies and bodies of the EU
- Of governance
- Of goods
- Judicial co-operation in civil and commercial matters
- Ongoing union judicial and administrative procedures
Bloomberg (HERE) are reporting it as the UK not escaping the "shackles" of EU law after Brexit. I don't see any comments yet in the press but I don't think they will be long in coming!
