IMPACT ASSESSMENTS TO BE PUBLISHED?

The Labour party has used an ancient parliamentary procedure to get the government to release the 58 impact assessments (HERE). The motion was voted on last night and passed unanimously when Conservative MPs abstained. I think it shows how useful it is to have a lawyer like Kier Starmer on your side.

The government is to decide how to respond but unless the assessments are released, at least to parliamentarians, speaker Bercow is talking about bringing contempt proceedings against ministers so it's quite serious.

George Osborne has tweeted that he doesn't think Mrs May has majority in the House for any Brexit legislation. This may be the start of the remainers in parliament finally asserting themselves in the face of the weakest and most incompetent government in history.

The election in June looks more disastrous every week.
