BOJO'S FANTASIES

It's educational isn't it, to look back on things people said in the past, particularly BoJo. His utterances are fascinating because rather than the normal stuff you get from politicians his efforts are more like a writer of fiction, where there are no boundaries and if you can think it, you can write it down. This is whether or not it has even a grain of truth in it. In fact BoJo is so infamous for it that no one ever thinks to hold him to account. In this he is quite unlike a conventional politician.

Here's what the idiot wrote in his Telegraph column just after the referendum:

British people will still be able to go and work in the EU; to live; to travel; to study; to buy homes and to settle down. As the German equivalent of the CBI – the BDI – has very sensibly reminded us, there will continue to be free trade, and access to the single market. Britain is and always will be a great European power, offering top-table opinions and giving leadership on everything from foreign policy to defence to counter-terrorism and intelligence-sharing – all the things we need to do together to make our world safer.

Let's just compare his effortless fantasy with today's reality. Firstly, we will not be free to live, travel, study, buy homes and settle down in the EU. We will not continue to have free trade and access to the single market (the BDI never said anything of the sort). And amazingly, contrary to what he said in 2016 he is now a leading advocate of coming out of the customs union and the single market.

And finally, we have just announced we are pulling out of leading the EU defence force (HERE) and the draft withdrawal agreement, at our request, allows us to opt out of the EU's common foreign policy position. So much for "giving leadership".

If ever there was a man who has no idea what he's talking about it's Bojo.
