THE ECONOMY

The Guardian (HERE) reported yesterday that clouds are gathering over the UK economy.  Data shows it slowing down. Economists had, for example expected manufacturing output to rebound in April by 0.9% after a drop in March of 0.6%. In fact it grew by just 0.2%. There was no sign the fall in the value of the pound last year boosting exports. Export volumes actually went down.

New uncertainty after the election result and the anticipation of a hung parliament trying to govern and negotiate our way out of the EU is also expected to weigh heavily on the economy. The pound fell almost 2% on Friday and is still 1.5% lower at the end of the day. What a mess!
