LATEST POLLING

I think something may be happening to public opinion on Brexit. YouGov has been polling voters regularly since August 2016 and have asked the same question in 40 polls taken between then and 1st August this year. The question is this:

Was the UK right or wrong to vote to leave the EU?

Up to 31st May this year, in the 33 polls carried out up to then, a narrow majority answered that it was right in 27 and in three other polls right and wrong were equal. People saying it was wrong were a majority in just three polls.

However, since the end of May there seems to be the start of a detectable shift. In the last 7 polls since then, Right/Wrong were equal in 3 and Wrong were ahead on three other occasions. Those believing it was Right were in the majority just once.

From being the majority in 27 out of 33 polls up to May, Right was the majority only once in the last seven.

Is the tide slowly beginning to turn? Let us hope so.
