MERVYN KING DOES NOT KNOW WHAT BREXIT WILL BRING - But he still thinks it's a good thing!

Mervyn King, former governor of the Bank of England, was on Radio 4 yesterday morning (August 5th). He is in favour of Brexit and says some economic damage was a price worth paying to achieve it but he rather spoiled any impression of rational thinking by saying he didn't "know the economic consequences of Brexit". This is an extraordinary position for an apparently intelligent person. Let's think about it.

He doesn't know the consequences of Brexit - but he still thinks it's a good thing. He admits there will be some economic hit, which is the general consensus among economists. His is the kind of thinking you might expect to see from people living under ISIS in Aleppo or Mosul where their condition is so appalling, so hellish, that any alternative is better than what they had. Mervyn King appears to be arguing from a similar perspective. The future after Brexit - whatever it is - MUST be an improvement on the status quo.

So, even if Brexit was to lead us all to penury by laying waste to the national economy it would still be worth it! This is amazing but it demonstrates why it is difficult to discern any logic to Brexit or the thinking of the average Brexiteer. It is why you cannot argue with them using logic. Brexit is not logical.
