BOJO - STILL PLAYING THE FOOL

I am beginning to worry about Boris Johnson's sanity. He has a piece in today's Telegraph (HERE) setting out his "ten point plan for a successful Brexit". It is so childish it looks like he wrote it under the influence of drink or mind altering drugs. The very first point is to spend the £350 million a week saving from our EU contributions on the NHS! This is from our foreign secretary writing in a supposedly serious national newspaper. No sane, sentient human being in this country now believes this figure for a second, but Boris is still talking as if it's going to happen! The full 4000 word article is HERE

Other items are no less fanciful. He wants to borrow more to pay for infrastructure and prevent foreigners buying houses here. Stunningly, one of the points is Brexit will be a success - “This country will succeed in our new national enterprise, and will succeed mightily.” That's it, the whole point! Brexit will be a success because, well because Brexit will be a success. This from a man occupying one of the highest offices in the land who has sat round the cabinet table for the last year! We are governed by tautologists. What hope is there for us? Even the BBC have covered the story HERE

Johnson is like Inspector Clouseau, carefully setting out the facts one after the other as The Observer points out (HERE) and then drawing completely the wrong conclusion. Yes our education and infrastructure isn't good enough but pulling out of the EU is not the answer, it is the antithesis of the answer.

As if the babblings of an idiot were not enough of an embarrassment The Telegraph calls it a "positive and bold vision" and a "vital intervention in the single greatest challenge facing this country" written in his "uniquely engaging style". This part is behind a paywall (HERE) but who would want to pay to read it? And Charles Moore (HERE) asks if it's time to "place our future in the hands of Boris Johnson" to which the answer must surely be a resounding NO! Rather than leading the nation he should be sedated and forced to attend a clinic for alcohol or drug dependency. No sober, rational person - this excludes Charles Moore in any case - would think he is the right man to be PM.
