CAMERON - BREXIT NOT AS BAD AS FEARED?

Cameron's recent comments in Davos about Brexit not being as bad as feared has been greeted by Brexiteers, including The Daily Mail, as vindication of the vote to leave. Most pro EU commentators take the view that not being as bad as feared is hardly what Brexiteers told us would would happen. It was going to be jam all the way wasn't it?

But what has been overlooked is that the comments were made by the man who called the referendum itself. He can hardly admit it will be a disaster. Think about it. What is he to say?

I called a referendum when I did not need to thinking it would be a disaster and actually it's going to be worse than I thought?

It would look even more recklessly stupid than it was.

And also, look who he was talking to. Lakshmi Mittal, the billionaire chairman and CEO of ArcelorMittal the world's biggest steelmaker with properties in London and a big investor in this country. Former prime ministers don't go round talking their countries down. He is bound to make things look better than they are.

Brexit not as bad as we thought?  I don't think so.
