LABOUR SPLIT ANNOUNCED

Well, no sooner had ITV reported, as they did last night, that the Labour party was on the verge of a split than a split appears. Perhaps split is too big a word since it's only seven MPs at the moment but we can say it is certainly a crack.

The MPs are calling themselves The Independent Group and they have a website although I can't give you a link since the published address doesn't seem to work.

The Guardian report it HERE.

Will it make any difference?  Probably not - unless they are joined by many more Labour MPs and perhaps a few Conservative MPs as well. I don't rule that out but to get a new political party underway takes a charismatic leader and money and as yet they don't have either.

Guido Fawkes are reporting the new group is above a Wetherspoons pub (HERE) as if they should be embarrassed. I think it may be Tim Martin who will be embarrassed.

Note they are described as an anti-Brexit group on Guido's website which makes them heroes on this site.
