ANDREW BRIDGEN

Andrew Bridgen is MP for North West Leicestershire and the epitome of a Brexiteer. Immune to reason and logic, he is like an extreme fundamentalist member of the Brexit Taliban. He has been openly critical of the PM and anyone else who doesn't agree with his hard Brexit agenda. The dimwit thought British people could fly to Dublin and get an Irish passport - just like that (HERE) because 'Everyone in England is entitled to an Irish passport'

Now the Leicester Mercury (HERE) has a report about the loss of 'hundreds' of European staff from local health services:

"Andrew Johnson, a non-executive director sitting on the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) board, asked what preparations are being taken to ensure the same doesn’t happen after March 29 as the team discussed a report about the potential impacts of Brexit".

"He said: 'Several hundred staff left within the first three or four months after the vote' ".

I wonder if Bridgen has read it or even cares about it?  What a price the people of Leicester are paying for an MP pursuing a personal vendetta against the EU.  Their health care is likely to suffer as the UK becomes a hostile environment for European workers who feel that they are being made unwelcome.

Bridgen seems quite a dodgy character but not untypical I am sorry to say of the new breed of Tory MP.  Note this from his Wikipedia entry (HERE) about his company AB Produce:

"In August 2014, AB Produce, which Bridgen was Director of, was warned by the Environment Agency that it could lose its licence if it does not remove a 'urine like' smell from two 'lagoons' of putrid vegetable matter on the site. The smell had reportedly been a source of complaints from neighbours for several years, and following the enforcement action, the issue was resolved"

And what about this:

"In 2015, Bridgen sold his constituency house in Appleby Magna for £2 million, under a government High Speed 2 (HS2) compensation scheme as the house is 100 feet (30 m) from the proposed route, as a consequence of his divorce proceedings. He was criticised by local campaigners for selling at the early stage under an 'exceptional hardship scheme', but Bridgen argued he had lost more money than anyone else. In March 2017, Bridgen apologised for failing to declare at an HS2 debate that his home is being bought by the high-speed rail link. He made the apology in the House of Commons after being found to have breached the rules governing MPs’ interests following an investigation by the Commons standards watchdog.  However, Bridgen argued that he had been a consistent critic of High Speed 2, casting doubt on the economic benefits associated with the proposals, and the costs of the programme regardless of his property interests."

What a selfless individual eh?

Pass the sick-bag would you?
